Heading from Ninh Binh to the coast? This two-day trip handles the transfer and packs in the best of Cat Ba. After the bus ride from Ninh Binh or Tam Coc and hotel check-in, an afternoon cruise takes you to Cai Beo floating village and into Lan Ha Bay to swim and kayak among the karsts, finishing with a sunset tea party on deck.
The next morning you trek into Cat Ba National Park, climbing stone steps through virgin forest to the Ngu Lam Peak viewpoint, then walk 300 metres through the stalactites of Trung Trang Cave. Afterwards you can take a bus on to Hanoi or back to Ninh Binh.
